Ways to Work With Me
There are different ways people arrive here — and different kinds of support that can be helpful at different stages.
Some people are feeling emotionally overwhelmed.
Some are functioning well but exhausted by their own mental patterns.
Others are professionals looking for supervision, training, or structured development.
You don’t need to know exactly what you need before reading on. This page is here to help you orient yourself and decide what kind of support might fit best.
If you’re unsure, that’s completely normal.
Counselling & Therapeutic Support
This is often where people begin when something feels heavy, confusing, or difficult to carry alone.
I provide counselling and psychosocial support to individuals, couples, and families. Sessions are offered online and in person from my home-based practice.
This work tends to suit people who:
- Feel emotionally overwhelmed but are still managing daily life
- Notice recurring patterns in relationships or behaviour
- Are navigating grief, trauma, addiction, or significant transition
- Want a steady, reflective space rather than quick advice
My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based therapeutic frameworks. The focus is on understanding what is happening beneath the surface, strengthening emotional regulation, and building sustainable change over time.
Fees are payable privately, with medical-aid reimbursement available where applicable.
If you are in immediate crisis or require emergency psychiatric care, a different service may be more appropriate, and I can assist with referral options where needed.
Workplace & Employee Wellness Support
Some people arrive through their organisation rather than by self-referral.
I offer short-term counselling services to employees referred through Employee Wellness and Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs). This support is structured, time-limited, and focused on stabilisation, coping, and functional wellbeing within a workplace context.
Work often includes:
- Managing stress and burnout
- Navigating workplace conflict
- Strengthening emotional regulation under pressure
- Developing practical coping strategies
This service is aligned with organisational wellbeing frameworks and designed to support both individual resilience and professional functioning.
Mental Fitness Coaching
(Positive Intelligence® Programme)
Mental fitness coaching is a structured, forward-focused approach designed to strengthen your ability to respond rather than react.
I offer the Positive Intelligence® (PQ) Programme — an 8-week coaching experience designed to help individuals reduce unhelpful mental patterns, strengthen emotional resilience, and improve performance under stress.
The programme includes:
- Enrolment in a structured 8-week coaching journey
- Full access to the licensed PQ mobile application
- Eight individual coaching sessions (approximately 45 minutes each)
This pathway is often chosen by people who are functioning reasonably well but feel:
- Mentally exhausted
- Highly self-critical
- Reactive under pressure
- Stuck in cycles of overthinking or avoidance
Mental fitness coaching is not therapy. It does not involve deep trauma processing or open-ended exploration. It is skills-based, structured, and growth-oriented. It can complement counselling or stand alone, depending on your needs.
After completing the programme, you may choose to continue app access, engage in ongoing coaching, or transition into therapeutic work if appropriate.
Professional Training, Supervision & Education
Alongside my clinical work, I am involved in professional development within the helping professions.
Clinical Supervision
I offer structured clinical supervision to social workers and helping professionals working in private practice, organisational settings, or treatment facilities.
Supervision provides a reflective, ethically grounded space to:
- Explore complex client work
- Strengthen clinical decision-making
- Reflect on countertransference and professional boundaries
- Support professional growth and sustainability
- Prevent burnout and isolation in practice
My supervision approach is collaborative and developmental, integrating theoretical reflection with practical application. It is suited to both emerging and experienced practitioners seeking thoughtful, accountable support.
CPD Workshops & Professional Training
I design and facilitate practice-focused CPD workshops for social workers and helping professionals. These sessions are grounded in real clinical complexity and focus on practical integration rather than theory alone.
Topics include:
- Ethics and professional boundaries
- Counselling skills and process development
- Addiction and recovery
- Emotional regulation
- Professional sustainability and burnout prevention
Training is delivered both online and in person.
Academic & Educational Work
I work as a part-time online educator and facilitator within higher-education settings, supporting students through teaching, academic engagement, assessment, and reflective development.
This work bridges theory and lived clinical reality, supporting emerging professionals in building competence and confidence.
Not Sure Where You Fit?
It’s common to feel uncertain about which pathway is most appropriate — especially when you’re already feeling stretched.
If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to reach out with a brief message. We can clarify what kind of support might be most helpful, or whether a referral elsewhere would be more appropriate.
There is no obligation to commit beyond that initial contact.
